About Me
My name is Daniella Lubkowitz and I am 20 years old. I grew up just outside of Linköping, near a town called Borensberg. I studied computational linguistics at Stockholm University in 2019/2020 and found a passion for programming when I took a course in Python, which was my first programming language. After I decided I wanted to switch majors to something involving programming, I took a couple of courses in programming, one in C#, one in C++ and one in web development. I have always enjoyed making digital art, and have been drawing in Photoshop since 2013, mostly making environmental pieces that are often sci-fi inspired. I wanted to switch majors and find a program where I could combine both programming and digital art, which is why I chose New Media Design.
Previous knowledge and experience
I have previous experience in coding, and I have taken courses in C#, C++, Python and HTML and CSS. My previous experience is mostly object-oriented programming, and I have created different applications such as calculators, booking systems and simple multi page websites.
Interests and hobbies
I have a big passion for digital art and have been drawing for as long as I can remember. I have an Instagram where I upload my artworks. I usually draw inspiration from different environments, and I like to add some kind of twist to the artwork, sometimes sci-fi elements. I love to use different color combinations and using different textures when I'm drawing. One of my biggest inspiration is Simon Stålenhag.
- Movies
- My two current favorite movies are Dune (2021) and Prisoners (2013). I love watching anything sci-fi or thriller related. I love movies that focus on the visuals and have great cinematography.
- Digital Art
- I use Photoshop to create my artworks, and I use a digital tablet to draw in Photoshop. I am also really interested in concept art, and I like to collect different concept art books from movies and games.
- Hiking
- I love to hike up north in Sweden. My family has a cottage up north close to Funäsdalen, which we visit every winter and summer.
- Languages
- In high school, I studied 5 languages, Swedish, English, German, Mandarin and Latin. I’ve lost some of my knowledge of Latin and Mandarin, but I still try to keep up with my German. I love learning about languages, and how languages relate to each other and what makes them unique.
